ARTICLING PROGRAM

APPLYING TO GOWLINGS VANCOUVER

We are looking for well-rounded individuals who possess strong academic records and sound judgment. In addition to academic achievement and extra-curricular experience, our group gives preference to individuals who demonstrate the personal values likely to make them compatible members of our Firm. What is perhaps most important for us – and for our students – is finding a “good fit”. We highly value teamwork and a “we” approach to practicing law.

Articling should be a long-term commitment for student and firm alike. Articles are an investment in your development, with a view to an exciting future and long-term relationship with Gowlings.

If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Gowlings Vancouver recruits according to the Vancouver Bar Association guidelines. Please visit http://www.vancouverbar.ca for further information on these guidelines.

Gowlings Vancouver is an equal opportunity employer. Nonetheless, we appreciate that there is value in diversity in the make-up of our professional and administrative personnel complement.  Aboriginal persons, members of visible minorities, or persons with a disability should, therefore, feel free to self-identify.

Please submit your application, including résumé and current transcripts to John G. Leckie. The Vancouver Bar Association sets the deadlines for articling student applications. For 2010, these dates have not yet been confirmed.

Gowlings Vancouver generally hires three students for the articling program. We currently have a full complement of articling students for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 terms.

We wish all articling candidates success in their search for an articling position!
