ARTICLING PROGRAM

APPLYING TO GOWLINGS CALGARY

Each year, Gowlings Calgary hires approximately 6 - 8 students for articles commencing in the summer of the following year. Applications are accepted from second and third year law students. Interviews are granted to selected candidates after careful consideration of all applications.

In selecting articling students, our criteria include:

  • academic performance;
  • the interview, as indicative of personal qualities and abilities;
  • employment experience;
  • interests and activities;
  • references; and
  • any other relevant factors, such as fluency in other languages and academic background.

Gowlings Calgary seeks students who thrive on challenges and the multi-faceted legal experiences of private practice.  Gowlings Calgary regards the articling experience as an investment in a long-term relationship, and an exciting future, for the student with Gowlings.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Gowlings Calgary recruits according to the Law Society of Alberta guidelines. Please visit www.lawsocietyalberta.com for further information on these guidelines.
