Each year, Gowlings Calgary hires approximately 6 - 8 students for articles commencing in the summer of the following year. We have hired 7 articling students for the 2011-2012 term and 7 articling students for 2012-2013. Applications are accepted from second and third year law students. Interviews are granted to selected candidates after careful consideration of all applications.
In selecting articling students, our criteria include:
- academic performance;
- the interview, as indicative of personal qualities and abilities;
- employment experience;
- interests and activities;
- references; and
- any other relevant factors, such as fluency in other languages and academic background.
